I love the way any wee tale of people reflects and weaves into the society around it.

Animation is perfect for tiny tales: the physical limitations mean paring down the characters and settings and distilling a story to a condensed form – a bit like a poem. The transience of working with materials that are moved in front of the camera and are gone, never to be repeated is exciting!

I am also currently playing with graphic novels as another way to weave small stories.

I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2012.

Since then my animated films have screened and won awards at festivals around the world and three of them been nominated for a Bafta Scotland award.

I work from a cosy studio and dark cupboard in Edinburgh.
